Southern Water’s Water Resources Management Plan shows how the company proposes to secure its water supplies for its customers during the next 25 years.
The final plan was published on this website on October 1, 2009, following an extensive consultation process on the draft plan, which was first published in May 2008.
The draft plan was circulated in a 12-week consultation process which ended on July 25, 2008. We received more than 125 responses, which were carefully considered, before we published the Statement of Responses to Representations Received on January 29, 2009. This is also available on the website and copies were sent to those who made representations during the consultation process.
An updated version of the draft plan, the Draft Resources Management Plan – Revised Draft following Consultation, was then published to show how we took into account the issues raised. It also included any developments due to the requirements of the industry’s environmental and financial regulators, the Environment Agency and Ofwat.
This led to the publication of the final Water Resources Management Plan, which represents our plans for the next 25 years and will be updated at five year intervals.
