A £1.45 million scheme to rebuild a wastewater treatment works near Chichester is nearing completion.
We are putting the finishing touches to the scheme at West Marden Wastewater Treatment Works which will ensure the treated wastewater leaving the site is of the best-ever quality.
New equipment, including treatment units and a pumping station, has replaced parts of the site and means it will continue to meet new standards set by the Environment Agency.
West Marden treatment works serves a population of just over 400 people in West Marden and Compton, and can treat up to 40,000 litres of wastewater per day.
The work was carried out by Southern Water’s supplier 4Delivery, a consortium comprising Veolia Water, Costain and MWH.
