A £2.4 million investment will benefit the environment in Horsmonden, Kent.
We are upgrading Horsmonden Wastewater Treatment Works, near Tonbridge, to enhance the quality of treated wastewater, ensuring it is cleaner than ever.
The scheme, which started in early October, will include:
• New equipment, including a 30 cubic metre treatment plant, which will treat wastewater to an even higher standard
• New screens, which remove debris (such as nappies and wipes) from the incoming flows
This will ensure the water leaving the site and recycled into the environment continues to meet new Environment Agency standards.
Residents might notice an increase in traffic in the immediate area of the treatment works, however, the site team will do all it can to keep disruption to a minimum.
Construction, which is due to complete in the summer of 2012, is being carried out by 4Delivery, a consortium comprising Veolia Water, Costain and MWH.
